We are offering five farms in the Leven Catchment a free place at Groundswell this July – the UK’s biggest festival on resilient and sustainable farming. Read on to find out more about Groundswell and this opportunity. 

More About Groundswell

Every year, thousands of farmers and industry professionals gather at Lannock Farm near Stevenage for Groundswell to connect, share knowledge, and learn from each other about resilient and sustainable farming practices. 

The event features over 100 talks and workshops, covering everything from practical farm walks, soil health, grazing techniques, and hedgerows, to wider topics such as connecting schools with farms, collaboration between farmer networks, and routes to market for farm products. 

Whether there is a particular topic you’re keen to explore, you want to meet farmers working on similar ideas, or you’re simply curious to see what Groundswell is all about, this free opportunity could be for you. 

As the festival has a packed programme, we hope to create pre-made recommendations of talks and events based on the interests of those attending. We also hope to organise an evening social get-together at the festival where we hope to get other farmers coming from Scotland to come along too.

Practical Information

What’s Included  

• Free Groundswell ticket for one person per farm. 
• Free accommodation selected by us. If you’d prefer to choose your own, an equivalent contribution towards your own booking.  
• Free transport in a shared Forth Rivers Trust car, travelling together to and from Lannock Farm. Other transport options are your own responsibility. 

Food, drink, and other personal expenses are not included. 

Depending on the amount of interest, we may also offer an additional ticket for another person from the farm. If two people from the farm would like to attend, let us know in the Expression of Interest form. This offer is only available to farmers in the Leven Catchment, funded by the Leven Catchment Farmer Network. 

While this opportunity is free, we ask that those attending share their learnings and experiences with the Leven Catchment Farmer Network. This could be via updates in the farmer WhatsApp group, written or video reflections, or in-person at one of our pub & pint meetups. We will agree on a format that feels comfortable for each of those coming once attendees are confirmed.

Express Your Interest

You will hear back from us latest by the 15th May.

The form asks the following questions:  

• Full Name, Farm Name, Postcode, Contact Details 
• Have you ever been to Groundswell before?  
• Why are you interested in going? 
• If we have enough funding, would anyone else from the farm want to go?
• If yes, what is their name.  
• Would you enjoying having a pre-Groundswell, social meet-up to meet others who are going?
