We are offering financial support for farmers in the Leven Catchment to join the conference. Funding is available on a first come, first served basis!
About the Conference
On 1 October, the Scottish Sustainable Agriculture Conference will bring together farmers, crofters, landowners and industry professionals from across Scotland to share practical ideas, experiences and knowledge that can help improve farm resilience, profitability and the long-term management of the land.
Whether you are already trying new approaches or are simply interested in hearing how other farmers are tackling similar challenges, the conference offers an opportunity to learn from others, ask questions and take away ideas that could work on your own farm.
The day will include practical workshops, informative talks and guided farm walks, giving plenty of opportunities to see different approaches in practice and speak directly with other farmers.
Conferences of this kind are common elsewhere in the UK but are still relatively rare in Scotland. A strong turnout this year will help demonstrate demand and increase the chances of similar farmer-led events taking place in Scotland in the future.
Practical Information
To help make it easier to attend, we are offering:
- Travel bursaries covering 45p per mile for journeys by car or full reimbursement of public transport costs
- A £10 contribution towards your conference ticket. Although tickets are free, the organisers have invited those who are able to make a voluntary contribution towards the costs of running the event.
After the conference, we will ask you to send us an invoice for your total costs and receipts for your ticket contribution and any public transport costs.
This support is available to farmers within the Leven Catchment (see the map below). If you’re just outside the catchment boundary, please get in touch. We may still be able to support your attendance.
While this opportunity is free, we ask that those attending share their learnings and experiences with the rest of the Leven Catchment Farmer Network. This could be via an update in the farmer WhatsApp group, written or video reflections, or in-person at one of our pub & pint meetups. We’ll find a format that works for you. You will hear back from us within a week. Funding will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so we’d encourage you to get in touch as soon as possible if you’d like to attend.
