Weatherproof Your Farm

About
Are you dealing with pasture lying wet through bad winters, or drying out too quickly in dry spells? Are you experiencing poaching? Do you struggle with burning-off, or grass growth dropping away mid-season? Do you want to grow more grass with less fertiliser? Are you struggling with compaction? Then come along to our pub gathering on the 21st October, 6.30pm-8.30pm, focused on soil health in pastures and grazing systems.
Led by soil health expert, Niels Corfield, this evening explores:
- what soil health really means for grazing land, beyond NPK;
- how different grazing and pasture management approaches affect it;
- and what can be done to address soil health related challenges
We will look at examples of grazing systems from across Scotland and the UK, exploring how management, rather than external conditions, drove similar outcomes, and what can really be done about it within pastures and grazing to work on these. We will do all this over good food and a drink, both on us, which we will be serving from 6pm onwards. If you want to grab some, feel free to arrive before 6.30pm, as we will start the talk then.
We have been offering free 1:1 farm advisory visits with Niels Corfield for farmers in the Leven Catchment, with a focus on pasture and grazing land. We still have one slot free on 23 October – if you are interested, send a message to 📱 07548 980926, and we will see if we can make it work.
